An Announcement from John Gamboa
August 30, 2021
|Dear CCB Family & Friends,|
I am extremely pleased and excited to introduce you to Adam Briones, the new Chief Executive Officer of California Community Builders. Adam will be replacing me as I retire from my current position managing at CCB. However, this will not be a goodbye as I will remain involved as Chair of the Board. Though I have deeply enjoyed and appreciated that time I have spent with everyone CCB and I look forward to our future interactions in a different capacity, it was past time for me to retire my position. As they often say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, and in my case, I often couldn’t remember the old tricks.
In all seriousness, I am looking forward to seeing how CCB progresses under Adam’s leadership and management – we couldn’t have picked a better leader if we birthed and raised them ourselves. Adam holds a master’s degree in Urban Planning from UCLA and prior to accepting our offer, he was the Senior Director of Economic Equity at the Greenlining Institute. Additionally, Adam has extensive experience in community and economic advocacy and affordable housing through his previous positions and work experience being the Vice President of Real Estate at the Genesis Company, and Senior Analyst at HR&A Advisors, as well as having been a Housing Fellow for the City of New York. In addition to his many qualifications, Adam’s sense of duty, his caring, and his integrity make him the ideal candidate to lead California Community Builders.
I value the time I have spent here greatly, and I look forward to seeing the ways in which all of Adam’s excellent qualities and qualifications guide the future work of California Community Builders.
